Meet Carrah Torrence

Founder, True Bearing L.L.C.
B.A./M.A. in Psychology and Data Science Accreditation

For nearly 20 years, I've held federal government positions where I've led and nurtured staff. I've worked with thousands of employees from different backgrounds and supported them through every stage of their careers, from recruiting and training to counseling, retraining, and separations. I've also worked closely with local and tribal governments and with small businesses.

I'm also an artist, musician, and humanitarian, with roots in psychology and music. Over the years I've found that these parts of who I am are a strength at work, not something to leave at the door. Compassion turns out to be a practical leadership skill. It builds trust, brings problems to the surface early, and helps people keep performing through difficult change.

That's who I love working with: leaders who care about people and want to stay true to that while navigating challenging work situations, whether in a large corporation, a small business, or anywhere in between, like supporting a struggling employee, leading a team through change, or holding high standards, all without compromising their personal code of conduct.

I started True Bearing as an outlet for my creative energy and a way to share my experience and vision. Helping people and managers grow is my passion.

Supervisor training

For beginner and intermediate supervisors with 0–10 years of experience

Practical training that builds the core skills every supervisor needs, from newly promoted leaders finding their footing to experienced supervisors ready to sharpen their approach.

Corporate concierge

For organizations hosting large conferences and meetings

Hands-on support that helps your conference or meeting run smoothly. I'll help you develop your event agenda, plan leadership activities and pre- and post-conference activities, provide healthy snack options and local restaurant recommendations, and support you on the day of the event, so you can focus on your people and your purpose. Hotel and venue booking are not included.
